CHRISTMAS IN SAN FRUTTUOSO

Abbey of San Fruttuoso, Camogli (Genoa)

December 24 – Traditional appointment in the millenary church of the Abbey of San Fruttuoso in Camogli (GE), with the celebration of the Holy Mass made even more suggestive by the participation of a vocal choir.

Saturday 24 December

On Saturday 24 December at 10.40pm a boat reserved for the participants of the event will set sail from the small port of Camogli (GE) to the village of San Fruttuoso where, in the church of the millenary abbey, it will be celebrated by Father Mario Pastorino, Parish Priest of San Fruttuoso, the Holy Mass with the participation of the “Voci d’Alpe” choir of the Alpine Group of Santa Margherita Ligure directed by Giuseppe Tassi.

At the end of the ceremony, it will be possible to visit the original 10th century Benedictine monastery which since the 16th century was the property of the Doria family. A greeting toast with mulled wine, prepared by the Alpine Group of Santa Margherita Ligure, will be offered to guests in the Doria Pamphilj square and will be accompanied by the tasting of the traditional Christmas pandolce from the ancient Romeo Viganotti chocolate factory in Genoa.
Participants will also be offered a gift by Helan – Laboratory of cosmetics in Genoa.

Different provisions apply within the places of worship compared to museum institutions, therefore access to the Church will not be guaranteed for all participants in the event.
