As for the Shearwater, this species also reaches the earth only to nest, in a rather long period of reproduction, which goes from February to the beginning of summer, in which the female lays only one hatched egg for about 60 days. The main colonies are registered on the Tavolara and Molara islands (North-Eastern Sardinia).
It feeds on small fish and molluscs and can approach the mouths of rivers in the event of a strong presence of food in the area.
