It resembles the White Shark, but the shape of the body is decidedly slimmer and less massive and its metallic blue color is much more reminiscent of that of the Verdesca. Its diet is very varied and includes other fish, squid, crustaceans and dead animals. It has 24 to 26 teeth per jaw that protrude outwards even when the shark has its mouth closed.
Although it is considered dangerous for humans, there have been no reliable cases of unprovoked attacks and it is usually very elusive and suspicious.
