Species sighted: Moon fish, Caretta Caretta turtle, Zifi and Striped dolphins

The calm sea and the absence of wind facilitate sightings! There were numerous Moon Fishes during the entire duration of the excursion. Today we observed the first Loggerhead Turtle of the season, a medium-sized individual 10 miles from Genoa. 3 groups of Striped Dolphins very close to the coast, despite being cetaceans that prefer to live in a pelagic environment. Two backs in the distance betrayed the presence of two Zifi’s. Sometimes a little patience is needed for this species: observing it closely may not be easy. The Zifio in fact performs dives that can easily last more than 30 minutes. Today’s two individuals were in apnea for 13 minutes before they could be approached again.
