Tourist Coach Access to Camogli – Important Information
When making your booking, you may request us the official communication issued by the Municipality of Camogli regarding the access procedures for tourist coaches, accompanied by an explanatory map.
Three-axle coaches are not permitted to enter the municipality of Camogli and cannot, under any circumstances, obtain authorization to do so. The recommended departure point in this cases will be the Recco pier.
Coach companies operating two-axle vehicles are instead kindly requested to contact the Camogli Municipal Police in advance at ztlbusturistici@comune.camogli.ge.it to obtain the required authorization.
If authorization is not granted, the Recco pier may be used as the departure point, as indicated on the map.
If the transfer is by train, this information does not apply.

The classic route starts from Ruta di Camogli, passes through Pietre Strette, and descends to San Fruttuoso. From San Fruttuoso, the journey continues in the afternoon to Portofino and finally to Santa Margherita Ligure, or alternatively, returns to Camogli or Recco, where the bus can be rejoined.**

This program allows you to explore Monte di Portofino along the mule track from Camogli to Punta Chiappa, passing through San Rocco. At Punta Chiappa, in Porto Pidocchio, you will board a boat to San Fruttuoso, then continue to Portofino, and finally to Santa Margherita Ligure, or alternatively to Camogli or Recco, where you can rejoin your bus.

The 4-hour excursion to the “International Cetacean Sanctuary” is suitable for an audience of any age. The departure from Genova Porto Antico, Calata Mandraccio, takes place on Wednesday and Friday with the possibility of departure also from Camogli and Recco. Other days of departure can be agreed upon when booking.
The aim is the research and observation in their natural habitat of the species of cetaceans residing in this area: fin whales, sperm whales, zifi, pilot whales, stalks, dolphins, dolphins and bottlenose dolphins.
On board our motor ships there is always a biologist who, in addition to participating in the activity, has the task of observing the animals and commenting on the meetings, providing information and curiosities, collecting data for research and involving children in various activities.
It seems only right to point out that navigating in search of cetaceans in the waters of the Sanctuary means facing a patient work of monitoring and observation of the surface, remembering that we are looking for free animals and there are no times or points set to meet them. We must accept the idea of having to face even a few hours of navigation, which is then amply rewarded by the emotion and spectacle that these creatures give us. The best days for sighting are those of calm sea and no wind, a situation in which it is easier to see the animals when they come to the surface to breathe.
Golfo Paradiso s.n.c has been dealing with maritime transport services in the tourism sector for years; with the creation of the Whalewatch Genova and Whalewatch Imperia brands, it takes over the baton of the first whale watching operator in Italy, the Bluwest of Imperia, placing its many years of experience in open sea excursions with the Corsara and Sagittario motor ships, authorized by the Coast Guard for navigation offshore for whalewatching within twenty miles from the coast, for the sighting of the eight species of cetaceans that can be encountered in the Ligurian Sea.
Through a series of activities such as:

– Commentary on board during sightings
– Data collection during sightings
It offers a unique experience, in which adults and children can come into direct contact with whales and dolphins, the spokesperson of a sea that today more than ever requires our attention and needs our protection.

It is a pleasant excursion in the always calm and calm waters of the port of Genoa, one of the largest in the Mediterranean. The trip has a duration of 60 minutes during which all information relating to the many activities carried out on the docks will be provided. In addition, the excursion gives the opportunity to admire from a privileged perspective the beautiful panorama of Genoa, the churches, the historic center and its symbol, the Lantern.
Our proposal is valid from Monday to Friday until 12.06.2025, with reservations required; marine weather conditions do not affect the regular course of the activity. The excursions are carried out upon reaching a minimum number of 20 participants.
Our boarding point for excursions from Genoa is located at Porto Antico, at Calata Mandraccio — right in front of the iconic Bigo panoramic lift and next to the Coast Guard vessels.
By Train:
Option 1: Get off at Genova Brignole station, take the metro located inside the station, and get off at the S. Giorgio stop. Then continue towards the Bigo, the panoramic lift designed by architect Renzo Piano — our boarding point and InfoPoint are just a three-minute walk away.
Option 2: Get off at Genova Piazza Principe station, take the metro, which can be accessed directly from the underground platforms, and get off at the San Giorgio stop. Then continue towards the Bigo, reaching our boarding point and InfoPoint in just three minutes.
By Coach:
Take the Genova Ovest motorway exit and follow the road signs toward the city center, continuing for about 2 km along Via Milano and Via Gramsci. Before the underpass, keep right to reach Piazza Caricamento, where the group may leave the coach. From there, a pleasant five-minute walk through the pedestrian area of Porto Antico leads directly to our boarding point and InfoPoint.

The group will reach our boarding point located at the small harbor of Camogli, easily accessible on foot with just a few minutes’ walk through the charming old town.
By Train:
Get off at Camogli – S. Fruttuoso station. Continue along Via XX Settembre and Via della Repubblica until you reach Via al Porto, where you will find our boarding point and InfoPoint.
By Coach:
From the A12 motorway, take the Recco exit and follow the road signs for approximately 2 km towards Camogli. The coach may drop passengers off at the town entrance in Località Migliaro and then continue either to the parking area in Ruta di Camogli (Loc. Alega) or return to Recco to wait for the group.
Three-axle coaches are not permitted to access Camogli under any circumstances. Passengers must always be dropped off in Recco, from where they can board our boats.
Our Recco boarding point is situated on the East Pier (Molo di Levante), next to the lighthouse on Via Lungomare Bettolo.
Two-axle coaches are allowed to enter Camogli only with prior authorization.
If access is granted, passengers may be dropped off at the town entrance in Località Migliaro.
If access is not granted, drop-off must take place in Recco.
Coach Parking Recco: From the motorway exit, follow signs to the town centre until you reach the large railway bridge. The coach parking area (paid parking) is located near Via Roma, in the same area as the car park.
Coach Parking Ruta di Camogli: Along the Via Aurelia, at km 501, Località Alega – paid parking area.
