EVENTS
The event, which has its origins in 1400, is always celebrated on the first Sunday of August and has its highlight in the laying in the sea of thousands of (biodegradable) candles lit in honor of the Madonna: for local fishermen she is the ” Star of the Sea “. In the morning the cannon shot announces the departure of the Dragun who, followed by paved boats, takes the parish priest to the altar of the “Stella Maris” located on Punta Chiappa, where Holy Mass will be celebrated.
In the evening, while the floating candles are placed in the water, the Dragun accompanied by the canoes, parades in a play of lights and music.
